You have to actively pay attention to yourself and know when you are using intellectual resources for entertainment purposes or if you are actually listening and learning. Remember: you aren't actively listening if you are failing to implement the things you learn. If you find yourself watching videos, reading books and conversing with other business owners in social media groups and you aren't taking notes (or taking notes and doing nothing with them) you are using your intellectual resources for entertainment purposes only. You're hearing everything you learn and chalking it up to "oh, well that's good to know", but never really transmuting that information and finding out exactly what that means for your and your business. Remember that we are all different and everything we see, hear or learn will look much different once implemented with our own style. Just think of this as when you buy a child a new toy. After a couple of fun-filled days, the baby throws the toy in the toy box with the rest of the toys (if not destroyed). Our brains will do that with acquired data, it will destroy the information if it isn't synthesized and implemented in the voice of which we understand it.
